When police notice that Scantlin appears to be intoxicated, a search finds him in possession of controlled substances, described as being in the form of 'powder and pills'. He is arrested and then released a few hours later after posting $10,000 bail.

Collins, a guitarist and fiddler who played with Roy Acuff's
Smokey Mountain Boys, dies following a stroke, aged 78. He was
originally with the Pinnacle Mountain Boys and joined Acuff's group in 1966 where
he remained for 25 years. Collins was also a regular at the Grand
Ole Opry as part of the Square Dance Band.
