John Levy is born in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. He will become a respected double-bass player and, later, the first African-American personal manager in jazz, directing the careers of Ahmad Jamal, Cannonball Adderley, Freddie Hubbard, George Shearing, Joe Williams, Nancy Wilson and many more of the biggest stars in jazz.
