Fact #99965

When:

Short story:

The Beatles film a concert sequence for their first movie, A Hard Day's Night, in The Scala Theatre, London, UK.

Full article:

Phil Collins : I was at a stage school, and we all got sent down there - about 80 or 100 of us - to the Scala Theatre in the West End of London, to scream at The Beatles. And we got paid for it. We sat there, and we didn't have to be told to scream, because there they were - The Beatles!

Dennis O'Dell (associate producer, A Hard Day's Night) : Freddie Lennon turned up. That was extraordinary. My production manager brought it to my attention. We'd had so many try-ons. So I went to tell John and he said, 'Tell him to fuck off.' I said, 'John, nobody tells their father to fuck off.' He had a little laugh over that.

Eventually we let him in and they had some sort of reunion. They had a quick conversation before John was called off to do something. I don't know what was said. I presume he was there to put the bite on John, but then he disappeared.
