Fact #98815

When:

Short story:

Joe Brown And The Bruvvers, The Crystals, Johnny Kidd And The Pirates, Heinz and Manfred Mann play at The Coventry Theatre, Coventry, UK.

Full article:

Joe Brown : The Crystals were great, nice girls, but it didn't sound like the records because they couldn't get that Phil Spector sound on stage. They just went out there and sang their songs. We were all limited in those days by the kind of equipment we had. The PA systems were rubbish, the amplifiers were crap.

I always remember Eddie Cochran had a Selmer amp on wheels when he came over, and so did the Karl Denver Trio, and the whole band plugged into it.
