Al Kooper (organist, The Blues Project) : We had a regular gig at the Café Au Go Go in Greenwich Village supporting much more famous blues singers but we always blew them offstage, because we were such a high-energy band. So we just took off like a rocket and I gave up doing sessions to concentrate on the band full-time.
