Jeff Dexter (tour MC) : Ashton, Gardner And Dyke were one of the support acts on that tour and Colston Hall was the first time Tony Ashton was introduced to Clapton. He was so nervous that he accidentally called him Derek and the name stuck for the rest of the tour, which is how Clapton became Derek for Derek and The Dominos.
