While riding to a rehearsal in Belgravia, London, England, UK, Europe, Mark Knopfler's Honda motor bike is hit by a Fiat Punto. Knopfler is taken by ambulance to St Thomas' Hospital in central London, and treated for a broken collar bone and six broken ribs.Full article:
Bob Taylor (Robertson-Taylor Insurance brokers) : We've looked after Mark Knopfler's tours since the days of Dire Strais, and had very few incidents or problems. The worst we ever had was in 2003, when he was riding to a rehearsal for a tour that was starting two weeks later. His bike was hit by a car and he was severely injured, which resulted in the total abandonment of that tour.
