The Campaign Against Racial Discrimination delivers a petition to the BBC in London, England, UK, Europe, signed by both black and white people, requesting that The Black And White Minstrel Show should be taken off television. It had long been felt that a large part of 'minstrel humour' was based on caricaturing black people and depicting t hem as being both stupid and credulous. Despite this, the programme will continue to be broadcast until 1 July 1978.
