Fact #79492

When:

Short story:

Pink Floyd play at The Royal Albert Hall, Kensington, London, UK.

Full article:

Roger Waters (Pink Floyd] : The only memory I have of an Albert Hall gig was when we did the whole of Saucerful of Secrets as a performance using the organ, and with a choir with Norman Smith conducting, and we used cannon. It was fucking great, 'cause they had this pair of old cannon downstairs that they used for the 1812 Overture, and I thought, 'Well bugger me, we must use those!' So we wheeled them out.

It's fraught with difficulties because there is a huge delay between pressing the pedals and the keys and the noise coming out the tubes because it's an enormous instrument. Anyway that was good and I remember really enjoying it.
