Fact #7847

When:

Short story:

During a live appearance on WSLI Radio in Jackson, Mississippi, USA, Hank Williams departs from his planned set to perform a new song, Long Gone Lonesome Blues. The local band [The Southern Serenaders] that disc jockey Farmer Jim had assembled for Hank's live radio performance had no idea what Williams was doing and had to busk along as best they could. The track was eventually released by MGM Records a few weeks later.
