Buddy Miles (Band of Gypsys) : After the Fillmore gigs, we were splitting time at Baggy’s and the Record Plant, and I would personally go and get Hendrix every day at his apartment. Jeffery (manager Mike Jeffery) had him so petrified, he’d be spaced out.
Jimi Hendrix : I just would rather play. I never sang before we formed The Experience - it was just something they made me do in England. Anyway, Buddy has the right kind of voice for what we want to do, so let him do it.
