Short story:

UK punk band 999 release a cover version of the John D. Loudermilk song Indian Reservation in the UK. Originally called The Pale Faced Indian, the song was first released in 1959 by Marvin Rainwater but flopped. Don Fardon turned it into a hit in 1970, reaching No3 in the UK and No20 in the USA. A year later, The Raiders covered it again and went to No1 in the USA. 999's version, however, will stall at No51 in the UK singles chart.
