Michelle Phillips (The Mamas And The Papas) : Cass was in love with Denny. Denny and I were attracted. On Cass's birthday she made duck-a-l'orange for us all. We were drunk, candles flickering, empty wine bottles everywhere.
Cass and John (John Phillips, husband of Michelle) were asleep and Denny got up, went to the sliding glass door and beckoned me with his finger. We went next door to the vacant apartment and did it.
John found out, gave Denny a choice - the group or me. Denny asked me to go to the Islands, but I wanted to be in the group. It took me four months of begging and pleading to get back. The money was pouring in but our songs were based on the drama between us and, once that had been squelched, there wasn't much to write about.
