Jay Ferguson (guitar/vocals, Spirit) : Being at The Lyceum may stand as my all-time favourite memory of being in Spirit. I mean, Spirit was headlining over Joe Cocker and the Bonzo Dog Band. That alone was just amazing to me. And the fact that the place sold out and all these people from the business came, and they were fans. We had no idea that we had those kinds of fans.

The Who offered us the use of their equipment. This wasn’t something they did commercially. They came along to our rehearsals and saw our equipment and were horrified, so they offered us theirs, which was state of the art at the time. English gear was to die for back then.

I remember I bought Jeff Beck’s old Marshall stack in London and then had to get it back to California.
