Fact #60337
When:
Short story:
The Golden
Gate Bridge in San Francisco, California, USA. The bridge will
not only become a world-famous landmark and a symbol of the American west, but will inspire several musicians to compose songs
in its honour. Ocean Colour
Scene released Golden
Gate Bridge in 2003. The rather more grim Golden Gate Jumpers
by Cold War Kids takes as its theme the fact that many people have
deliberately jumped to their deaths from the bridge. In 1997 The
Bridge: Golden Gate, with lyrics by Noah Griffin and music by Bob
Voss was chosen as the Official Song Of The Bridge, and in 2012 the San Francisco Synthesizer Ensemble released A Day In The Life Of
The Golden Gate Bridge, an abstract music video tribute whose music
was created entirely from sounds generated by the bridge itself.
