When:
Short story:
The Beatles play at The Convention Hall, Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA.
Full article:
Larry Kane (journalist) : Derek Taylor invited me and some journalists up to The Beatles' hotel room before the gig. I remember arriving there and being greeted by, shall we say, a group of professional working women. This was the first time on the tour I had encountered them. Perhaps they'd been ushered in more surreptitiously on other dates, but I really don't think so. I think this was the first time that The Beatles were offered the services of prostitutes.
True, women came and went from The Beatles' floor in most of the hotels, but they were always discreet about what they got up to. Here it was very blatant. Paul and ringo were sat on the sofa, george was sat on the floor. Mal Evans and Derek were gawping at these heavily perfumed, made-up women. Everyone seemed into the idea.
There were about twenty of them, all in a line, all wearing very revealing dresses and it was very much, 'Here they are, take your pick.'
