Joe Brown : A Picture Of You was written by Pete, the bass player in my band, The Bruvvers. Him and the guitar player just came up to me one day and showed me the song. I never had much to do with the Denmark Street Tin Pan Alley thing until that was a hit, then we started getting hundreds of aluminium acetates sent to us from publishers. We got loads from The Beatles, I had loads of Beatles demos but I chucked them all away. They'd be worth a fortune now.

I did used to go round Denmark Street and visit the publishers and they'd have piles of demos and you'd listen to them and pick what was usually the best of a bad bunch.
