Tom McGuinness (bassist, Manfred Mann] : Although we wrote the early singles, John Burgess (EMI A + R man) held to the accepted wisdom of the day, 'Groups don't write their own material, leave that to professional composers.' So, after Hubble Bubble, we looked elsewhere for inspiration, mostly into Paul's (vocalist Paul Jones) record collection. Do Wah Diddy Diddy, Sha La La, Come Tomorrow and Oh No Not My Baby all came from that source.
