Fashion designer Joseph Mbeh submits an application to trademark the phrase 'Blue Ivy Carter NYC', based on the name of the baby recently born to Beyonce and Jay-Z. The application is denied by the United States Trademark Office, on the grounds that the name belongs to the famous infant. Within a month, to protect the name, Beyonce's company BGK Trademark Holdings will apply for the trademark.
