Shirley Reeves [The Shirelles] : Bob B. Soxx And The Blue Jeans had done Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah for Phil Spector, and Luther Dixon came up with something similar. He also wanted to get a New Orleans feeling on it. He thought it wouldn't work when we did It, but it did. It was a pretty good record and I like to do it in my show now. I did a little tricky thing with Pollyanna to make it cute vocally. It was a fun session but all the sessions were like that. We were all friends and we knew each other well.
