Music trade magazine Billboard in the USA reports that the folk music revival, spearheaded by Bob Dylan and others, appears to have sparked a boom in the sales of harmonicas. In 1963 virtually no American record retailers were stocking harmonicas but the latest estimates suggest that in 1965 almost 50% were. Harmonicas were also popular instruments among blues, soul and rock'n'roll musicians.
