Neil Diamond : I took to writing songs to satisfy my need for expression, to gain acceptance and recognition. I was pretty much an outsider most of the time. I was never accepted. That's why I took to songwriting.

Jay Black (Jay And The Americans] : Neil Diamond came to me with that one. He sang it for us with his guitar, then we recorded it. We did that before he did Solitary Man. Somebody told me that they had heard him say in a radio interview that the biggiest thirll of his life was coming home from the hospital after his daughter was born and hearing Jay And The Americans sing Sunday And Me.
