Brian Wilson (Beach Boys) : When we did Surfer Girl there was a mystical thing that happened that night that I can't describe. All I can tell you is that it was beyond anything I had known before. Surfer Girl symbolised a mystical place that I have never been to but sung about. Maybe I was there. I don't know. I could have been and not known it.
