Short story:
U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan denies Miley Cyrus's request for outright dismissal of the 2018 lawsuit filed against her by dancehall artist Michael May (a.k.a. Flourgon). In his lawsuit, Flourgon claimed that Cyrus had infringed his copyright in the 1988 song We Run Things. Judge Kaplan, however, substantially limits the amount of potential damages faced by Cyrus and her co-defendants.
