Joe Brown : That was just another one of many Larry Parnes tours I did. A lot of the venues on those early tours were a bit awkward because they were really cinemas so there wasn't much space on the stage.
Sometimes I just went out with Johnny Kidd, and we did better business than all the rest of them. They were a fabulous band, with Mick Green on guitar, the best rock band we had. They turned rock'n'roll around in this country. Johnny and me both had great bands, and we turned it round in that it was American rock'n'roll when we got it, and we made it into British rock'n'roll.
