Full article:

Lotta Nibell (CEO, Got Event, Gothenburg, Sweden) :I started at Got Event in 2014. We operate operates nine venues in Gothenburg, combining indoor arenas and stadiums. My first meeting with the top Swedish promoter Thomas Johansson happened just after I had started as we had a large concert by Håkan Hellström at Ullevi. I must admit I was a bit nervous meeting Thomas at first. He is an icon in the music and arena industry in Sweden and I was just a rookie.

Håkan's concert was magic and set the Nordic record with over 69,000 people at the arena. My first impression was that Thomas is a person who is very much down to earth. Of course, Thomas is business-minded but what really struck me was his genuine interest in people and the generosity of sharing his great knowledge. There is an energy surrounding him. I think this combination might be the secret to his success.

Thomas has brought world-class bands and artists to Gothenburg since the mid 80s. His concerts at Eriksberg and Ullevi are legendary. I am convinced that not only would we have missed out on a lot of the stars, but the local music scene would also have looked a lot different without Thomas. Thomas has certainly contributed in making Ullevi a famous landmark in Gothenburg.

Many millions of people carry dear memories of magic moments from the many concerts. And, not to forget, a major concert also brings a lot of goodness to local businesses such as restaurants, hotels and shops. Without Thomas, Gothenburg, Ullevi and Scandinavium would have been a lot different. And certainly, less attractive!
