John Herald (Greenbriar Boys) : Dylan took us by storm when he opened for us that gig. He was getting a bigger hand than we were. I was getting a little envious. He was a friend of mine, but I didn't really understand what he was doing. We were supposed to be the main act, and he just won the place over. I couldn't get the gist of why he was so popular. I told a friend, "If this guy makes it, I'll eat my hat." They're trying to hold me to it. He really tore the house down, though.

Dave Van Ronk : He had the audience in the palm of his hand. Of course, they were pre-sold. The word had gotten out, so he wasn't working to a hostile group. Far from it. It was an unbelievable performance.
