Stuart Braithwaite (guitars/vocals, Mogwai) : This was the first gig I ever went to. I was just fourteen, and it moulded my ideas of the standards that band playing live should aspire to. They did a really long set, playing most of the new album, and they had a fantastic light show that looked like the ending of Close Encounters Of The Third Kind.
I was also struck by the diversity of their music, ranging from incredibly morbid to very poppy but, whichever kind of music they were doing, there were always lots of great ideas in the songs.
