Full article:

Proof that there's still great songwriting talent aplenty in the UK is evident from the opening seconds of Co-Pilgrim's second album, when a jaunty sax-like riff that Motown somehow managed to miss is allied to a sweet slab of warm harmony-vocal pop that could do more damage to the polar ice caps than global warming. Mike Gale, the man at the heart of Co-Pilgrim, first attracted attention as songwriter for acclaimed, but never successful, Hampshire quartet The Black Nielson. These days he specialises in wistful, lilting, chuggy tunes that devotees of Del Amitri or even Gallagher And Lyle will find irresistible. A welcome ray of summer sun in winter's chill.
