Full article:

Dave Robinson (founder, Stiff Records) : That was produced by Peter Collins. I used to use Peter on all the difficult stuff, not the things that were already great musically. He got the tricky ones and we had eighteen straight hits in a row, with people like Tracy Ullman, The Belle Stars and so on. He had that great thing of being a really good producer who would share all his thoughts with you but he had no ego. He was always prepared to change course. If you could see something he didn't, he would happily go that way. Collins can work in any musical context and he would go on your instinct even if it totally disagreed with his vision, and he can make the record you want to have made. For a record company, that's the kind of people you want to work with. They're very rare.
