Michael Putland (audience member) : They were absolutely amazing. the picture I took looks like it could have been taken in the American south in the 1950s. Actually, though, it was at The Starlight Ballroom, Greenford. I always loved the look of those black girl singers of that period. Their single, Mockingbird, was one of the all-time great pop songs.
The Starlight was a local gig for me, so I also saw Cream there, and The Gods which was an underground band including Mick Taylor and Ken Hensley.
