Mitch Mitchell : We walked over to the car and suddenly Noel and I were grabbed and slung against the railings of the police station. We got slapped around a few times and I was going, 'What the fuck's going on?' They were the police, but we didn't believe it at first - they were all in plain clothes. They took Hendrix's passport off him, but left him alone because he was an American.
Andy Scott : I was in a band called SilverStone when I was sixteeen … like a sixties soul band … we were very fortunate in 1967, to be the support act for Jimi Hendrix in Manchester. I say fortunate because, out of the SilversStone band came The Elastic Band, and that happened immediately after seeing Jimi Hendrix. The obvious thing to do, once we'd seen Hendrix, was to change the whole direction, because we had guys in the band that really wanted to do something different. So that's when we became professional musicians.
