Chad Stewart : Two characters in search of a musical identity have a field day on this outing! As far as the title track is concerned, I'm not sure why we meekly obeyed the powers that be and suited up in our Righteous Brothers costumes. Probably because I hadn't come up with another hit song like I was supposed to! I vividly remember being Phil Spector's guest at one of the "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" sessions. It was fascinating to watch Phil lay down that famous wall of sound, little dreaming that one day I'd be part of an attempt to re-create it.

Covering the Everly Brothers' "Girl Who Sang The Blues", Three Dog Night's "Funny How Love Can Be", the Byrd's "Mister Tambourine Man", Sonny and Cher's "Baby Don't Go" and Bob Dylan's "Don't Think Twice" may seem unoriginal to some, but I don't see it that way. Great songs are living, breathing creations and deserve to be performed by more that just one artist. Garage bands, cover bands, tribute bands, it's all the same to me - people making music. Long may it continue.

This set also contains the obligatory ballad, "I Have Dreamed", the obligatory folk song, "There But For Fortune" and a couple of C & J originals, "Should I" and "Woman In You". That's about par for the course for a pair of idiots completely swamped by public appearances, tv shows and endless meetings with lawyers, accountants and press agents. The fame game is not as much fun as you might think!
