Press reports state that Brian Jones broke two ribs while practising karate beside the hotel pool here, but Stones bassist Bill Wyman has claimed that Jones' injuries came in retaliation after the guitarist had beaten up a girlfriend. Gered Mankowitz (photographer) : Signs of his (Brian Jones') disturbed personality were quite clearly manifesting themselves. At some point he just disappeared. Just walked out of the limo and disappeared. It was announced that he was ill but he'd just vanished.
