When:
Short story:
The Who play at The Dungeon Club, Nottingham, UK.
Full article:
Richard Evans (audience) : I was a fashion student at Nottingham Art School in 1965 and had got myself on the Social Committee because it meant you could get into the college dances for nothing. We booked The Who for this gig at The Dungeon. I'd just bought I Can't Explain and I loved it.
The Who turned up about two hours late to a very disgruntled crowd of pissed-off and drunken arts students. Once they started playing, though, they were forgiven. It was worth the wait. I particularly remember Townshend and Moon, but especially Townshend. We thought he was the coolest looking bloke we'd ever seen. I think it was the shoes.
