Full article:

Roger Daltrey (vocalist, The Who) : We usually had to do Them (BBC Radio sessions) very early in the morning. Those days we were gigging every night, sometimes two gigs a night, and the morning is something we never used to see in those days, unless it was a BBC session. John Entwistle (bassist, The Who) : I always hated them.

Roger Daltrey: Some of them were live in front of audiences, kind of a variety show where there'd be a live band, a big band that would play current hits, versions of whatever was in the charts and usually very badly. One of those bands, incidentally, had Elvis Costello's dad as the singer.
