Ian Broudie (Lightning Seeds) : I wrote a couple of songs and released the first album, Cloudcuckooland, which was a bit patchy and homemade - they were written in the bedroom on the portastudio and recorded mostly at home, and then it was like, well is anyone in the world going to want to listen to this or be vaguely interested in it, and I didn't know. It was kind of funny. Pure came out as the first thing and people liked it, but I still wasn't sure and so we did the next LP, Sense.
