Mick Houghton (journalist) : On the first two albums, Little Feat were a quirky LA outfit but what they played in The Rainbow was totally unexpected, a previously unheard of rock take on New Orleans funk. They'd expanded their original five-piece line up with and extra guitarist and a conga player and tore the place down with this radically new sound. When The Doobies came on, half the audience left the theatre. They couldn't follow it.
