Fact #113855
When:
Short story:
On his Out There tour, Paul McCartney plays at The US Airways Center, Phoenix, Arizona, USA. During the encores, he brings out an engaged couple from the audience, Adam Kowal and Andrea Copado, and has the pair recite their marriage vows for the crowd.
Full article:
Phil Kazamias (tour manager, Paul McCartney) : He gets a lot of joy from meeting fans, and he loves seeing someone walk away from meeting him with a big smile on their face. With that couple in Phoenix, for example, he just saw them from the stage and when he came off before his encores, he spoke to one of the security guys and sent him down to get the couple up onto the stage.

Brad Wavra (promoter, Live Nation) : I think Paul has a slightly mischievous side to him, where he likes to shake things up a little. It was one of my shows in Phoenix, Arizona, where he invited an engaged couple on stage and he performed a wedding service with them, but of course at the end of it he encouraged them to go and get properly married by a minister. The crowd was just so blown away and, when he does something unexpected, everybody enjoys the show a little bit more.
Luckily, if he does something like that, even though it's a very sophisticated show, his team has been together for so long that they can handle it without getting out of sync. It's seamless.
