Fact #113748
When:
Short story:
Jim Morrison of The Doors flies from Los Angeles, California, USA, to Paris, France, Europe.
Full article:
Robby Krieger (guitarist, The Doors) : After we had recorded L.A. Woman and thereby fulfilled the terms in our contract, nothing could hold him anymore. He took off, without having said any proper good-byes.
John Densmore (drummer, The Doors) : Jim said his bye bye, and that was it. I am sure that he wanted to come back.
Ray Manzarek (keyboards, The Doors) : That Jim went to Paris didn't mean the split of the band. To the contrary - as soon as he had left we started practicing new songs in our rehearsal room, songs that Robby had written for the next Doors album with Jim.
Bill Siddons (manager) : He said, ‘I don't know who I am, and I don't know what I'm doing at the moment. I even don't know what I really want, I just wanna go away’. Pamela was behind it all. It was her who pushed him to leave, and who told him to take his scrap books and write a theatre play.
