Michael Harrison (Tour Director, Frontier Touring, Australia) : I've been with Arctic Monkeys from woah! to go! We did their first gigs here in 2006, so I've seen them go from tiny clubs to major venues, and I've seen them grow from boys to men. When I first met them they were eighteen, and Australia is a long way from England but they've toured here on every album. They've been known to holiday here before they start a tour. They've really embraced this country. We're always hearing artists say, "I love your country", but I think they genuinely do.

I remember their first tour here, when they embraced the culture right away. I took them to an AFL footie game, and I was amazed that they knew and loved the film Chopper, which starred Eric Bana. It was a cult classic here but somehow they knew about it and they loved it. Highest-grossing R-rated movie of its time. They were watching it every day on DVD, and they were writing script lines from the movie on Matt Helder's bass drum skin.

One of their favourite characters in Chopper was Neville 'Bloody' Bartos, so when they played The Palace Complex (cap 1855) in Melbourne, we brought the actor down to meet them backstage after the gig, and he even had a go on the drums. They loved that.

Fans here in Australia just love Alex's lyrics because I think he sings about some pretty universal subjects. Every fan at their gigs seems to know every word of every song.

They've achieved so much but it still feels like they're just warming up. They're such lovely people to work with that you want to go above and beyond the basics and do a really great job for them.
