Lulu : There was another version by Them, which did rather better than mine. We both worked with Bert Berns. He came over and worked at Decca, which is when I met Jimmy Page, who played on the track for me, and Bert did these songs with both of us. It was a very weird thing for a record company to do, but they couldn't lose. Whoever had the hit, they got the money. I didn't have any say in the matter.
I hated Van Morrison. He was not a pleasant man, but what a great voice.
