Gene Pitney : Promotion is much much more difficult in the US, which is so vast and the distances are so great. And the beauty of having a market as compact as the UK was that you could fly in and do Thank Your Lucky Stars, Ready, Steady, Go!, Discs-A-Go-Go, Saturday Club and one or two other things, and you'd covered the UK. And if the song had anything, you could make it successful I was also extremely lucky with I'm Gonna Be Strong because I was over on tour at the time, so I got to do all the tv plugs twice.
