John Steel (drummer, The Animals] : I remember sitting in Columbus, in a virtually empty restaurant, eating a massive t-bone steak, listening to this excellent Hammond organ player who turned out to be Milt Buckner, virtually the father of modern Hammond organ playing, and he was playing almost a solo concert for me. He'd played with Lionel Hampton.
