Mick Farren (doorman, UFO Club) : Long before UFO had even started, Hoppy (co-owner John Hopkins) had been busted for dope dealing, but the case took about nine months to come to trial, so it was some time in June that he actually got sentenced and spent about six months in jail. After he was out of the picture, things got a lot less focussed.
It started to move from being like a collective to having a boss who made all the decisions for us, which was (the other co-owner) Joe Boyd.
