Bob Tucker (bassist, Bill Black Combo) : We flew out of town late after [The Beatles') show at Montreal but we couldn't land in Jacksonville because of bad weather. The pilots flew down to Key West and took us to this hotel that was empty. Back then, key west was deserted that time of year, and we were able to jam a bit in the hotel lobby.

Jackie De Shannon (songwriter, on tour with The Beatles] : We were all sitting around singing the first songs that we could remember that we wrote. Some of the rhymes, you're hearing The Beatles now, but to hear an early song that maybe someone wrote at 14, it was amazing some of the rhymes you would come up with ... pie and sky, and so on and so forth.

Bob Tucker : But some DJs in Miami got wind of it and when we woke up at noon, there was a crowd of kids surrounding the hotel with no security to hold them back.
