Fact #105184

When:

Short story:

The Bill Dixon Group performs Scandinavian Sketches and other pieces during a show at The Cellar Cafe, West 91st Street, New York City, USA.

Full article:

Bill Dixon : At The cellar, I would perform anything that I was working on. Scandinavian Sketches was had been commissioned for Swedish Radio.

I wasn't writing for the Swedish Radio Orchestra, but for any instrumentation. I later found out that the person I had been dealing with didn't have the power to commission works. I was paid, but this was a minor official. So they never really even got a copy of it. Somehow, people in Sweden knew about the piece, but parts were never turned in to them.
