Larry Kane (journalist) : The Vancouver police called it the worst night in their city's history. The Beatles had flown straight from Seattle. I was on the plane with them and we made our way to the Hotel Georgia where we were staying but, as we got close to the hotel, the police intercepted and escorted us to the Empire Stadium.

It was only their fourth date but the crowds were so immense they had to block the roads. Once the gig started the crowd went mad. They jumped out of their seats, they roared onto the pitch
