Fact #100942
When:
Short story:
Bob Dylan arrives at Heathrow Airport, London, England, UK, Europe, to play at The Isle Of Wight Festival.
Full article:
Ray Foulk (festival organiser) : He arrived on a regular flight at about 10pm. Sara was with him as well as Al Aronowitz. Derek Block and myself were there to meet them. We drove down to Portsmouth in two cars, which took about two hours. It was nearly 1am when we arrived at Portsmouth seafront, and very cold.
There was hardly anybody around and those who were passed Dylan by without a glance. Because of the cold, we were all drinking tea, waiting for our hired hovercraft to arrive. I still have this image of Dylan wandering around with his plastic cup of tea from the vending machine, in the dark.
I was in the firing line, dealing with Dylan and Block. I wanted to keep Dylan happy (but) I was getting word back from our office that ticket sales were slow and we had to get more publicity out of Dylan. I thought that if we could arrange one main press conference, rather than set up individual interviews, Dylan may well agree to do it.
