Ray Foulk (festival organiser) : We came up with the idea of making it a holiday for him and his family, in a farmhouse at Bembridge with a swimming pool and a recently converted barn, suitable for rehearsing in. We were offering Dylan a fortnight stay there, no expense spared, car with driver. Also we would have him come over on the QE2. The fee offered was $50,000 (£20,000).
